I publish an online newsletter on wine to 22,000 people.  In a recent survey we conducted, here is what respondents told us:

--100% said they would support a "mystery shopper" to assess who has a good wine program (and who does not)
--98.4% said they believed this information was HELPFUL to restauranteurs
--47.5% wanted the review to deal with 75% wine, 25% food content
--26.2% wanted the review to deal with 50% wine, 50% food content
--80.3% said it was HELPFUL to post low scoring restaurants!
--The following "important" factors is listed MOST to LEAST in importance to the respondents: Wine Pricing, Wine Selection, By-the-glass selection, Knowledge & Service of Staff, Staff pro-actively offering tastes, Cuisine & Wine pairing suggestions, Type of Stemware used
--Finally, another topic that continues to be of interest is "corkage policies."  It seems some actually know that it is NOT illegal in certain municipalities, as might be suggested by some restaurants.  As wine interest continues among diners, so will their interest in bringing their own wine.

Let's talk about this information.  I'm here to support our restaurants and survey results like this tell me that consumers believe we can do better.
